Hyatt Regency Sarasota is offering a palate pleasing deal this summer, allowing guests to experience a complimentary bottle of the exquisitely crafted Canvas wine while enjoying the fresh Floribbean tastes of the new Currents restaurant. Guests who purchase two or more entrees will receive a bottle of Canvas wine, Hyatt's signature brand, completely free of charge.
Canvas was created in partnership with Folio Fine Wine Partners, a Napa Valley, Calif.-based company owned by the Michael Mondavi family.
“We're pleased to offer the finely crafted Canvas line to compliment the fresh and Caribbean inspired menu at Currents,” said Executive Chef Aaron Chavarria.
Canvas represents the ‘art of living,' and refers to the artisan approach taken when developing the wine. Varietals include:
* Cabernet Sauvignon - The 2004 vintage offers lush aromas of ripe, fruit-forward flavors of black cherry, blackberry and cassis layered with nuances of cigar box and tobacco.
* Chardonnay – The 2005 vintage greets the nose with lovely apple blossom and honeysuckle aromatics.
* Merlot – The 2005 vintage is a wonderful balance of pure Merlot fruit and subtle toasty spice combined with rich, ripe tannins that give this wine elegance in the glass.

Register for Sarasota Youth Opera: 8/29/2008
Placement classes for singers who plan to join will be held Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, August 27, 28 and 29. The program is open to all young people age 8 (or entering third grade in 2008) through high school. These classes are important and students who are interested in participating should attend all three sessions, which are held from 4:45-6:30 p.m. Singers do not need to prepare a song for the placement exercise. Singers are admitted to the program regardless of skill level.
Tuition is $125 per semester. Tuition assistance is available.
